PSI History: In the Beginning
PSI was founded in April 1998 in Rockford, Illinois as a power unit manufacturer and systems integrator. We formed our company because of the market demand for services unique to each of our customers.
Customers told us they needed fluid power, motion control components and systems that were easy to operate and that met their individual needs. They also wanted a company to stand behind their product – not just during design, building and start-up, but for the long term.
We built PSI to answer this need. Although we have grown and changed through the decades, we remain committed to our mission and to our customers.

How We Work with You
We focus on hydraulic drives and systems, lubrication oil conditioning and transfer, and process control. We are all about design, manufacturing, service, and support of our equipment.
Unlike typical hydraulic distributors, we support manufacturing rather than expecting manufacturing to support us. We represent all of the major hydraulic component manufacturers and use the best solution for an application, not just what we stock.
We also provide application and integration services beyond fluid power and process systems. Starters, PLC, data acquisition, conveyor, roll mills, high speed cameras, and robotics are in our wheelhouse, as are mobile hydraulics and lube systems.
We continue our work with heavy mining equipment manufacturers and their dealers by enhancing service and support of their machinery.
